Bookworm or bibliophile?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE BOOKs- so much when we moved into the forever home, I built a library . Royal we of course, the builders built it I just decorated and loaded it up with books. It’s my favourite room. Dark colours cosy seating (and now the hubsters office desk!)

So, it’s clear I am a bookworm, it’s also clear for my sanity outdoors and books is a thing for me too. Walking and audio books work for me. Kindles etc don’t I’ve tried the tangible feel of a book, its pages and turned over corners - sacrosanct for some for me necessity no bookmarks here! I do have a habit of putting those little markers on pages as reminders too. I read and listen to the same book too. I feel like I am cheating myself if i don’t buy the book if I have listed too it- double cost yet its art and that should always be paid for!

So, here’s my two lists of What I’ve read in 2020 and What I’ve listened too. Note the duplicates mean I have read AND Listened to it. I have red and listened to A LOT. I’m going to rate them and keep this journal going - wish I had done it sooner yet what a year to start 2020 got another 50 years in me so plenty to read! I could also rate retrospectively and work my way through the library books.

Note this has a couple of Cookery Books - yet I have got over 30 of those not listed new for this year alone! Will add a new column for 2021!

Its mental this is my year in books, I like my diversity yet feel it can be more plus that i have read and listened 65 (some repeats as in read and listened too). I have a rule for library books it doesn’t go in UNLESS its been read. Now can i remember every detail of each book no but it sits in my subconscious and I know the memory is there.

Just a quick one here, I was an amonzite fiend getting my books from them however now and with 2020 destruction of retail even more I buy from www.bookshop.org and it’s so worthwhile its support independent bookstores. Its quick, easy and you help keep local bookstores trading. Please use them, something else of me to track and Share.

My final note is I have just been linking this all together and I will have walked, hiked, run since January 2020 to now 1976 miles so that’s where my time goes and gives me the ability to do this amount. The reading books is in my diary, weekly and instead of watching TV I read.
